Communication skills are a critical factor in selecting a professional Realtor. They should mostly listen and ask a few key questions. As you interview Realtors to represent you, are they offering to just set up showings based on your criteria, a 2 bedroom /2 bath home or do they tell you to call them when you come to town in a couple weeks/months?
It is important to remember that good communication works both ways. You need to be open and honest about your financial situation and expectations. We promise to keep your confidence and never share anything you tell us with anyone else--ever.
Certain condos preclude buyers from getting conventional financing for one reason or another. Other situations require as much as 30-40% to obtain an approved loan. If you are a first time home buyer and can only get 5% down for a home, be direct.
With full disclosure, it is possible to find solutions to most situations.

2. Do you have children? If so, are they school age?
3. Is it important to be able to walk or bike ride to restaurants and shops?
4. Preference, new construction, modern/contemporary, smaller/larger building?
5. Importance of a water view?
6. How much space do you need? Closet space?
7. What amenities are important to you?
8. Tennis/Golf/Biking?
9. Do you have pets?
10. Is the kitchen important to you? Do you cook?
11. Do you want move-in condition or would you consider a home that needs some TLC?
12. Will this be a cash purchase? If not, are you approved for a mortgage? Are your customers raving about you on social media? Share their great stories to help turn potential customers into loyal ones.
